چکیده
Molecular information using gene variants could support livestock selection to improve productivity. This study aimed identify the in part of MSTN (part third exoncoding region), a known for its significant effect on muscle growth. DNA was isolated from 95 Madura cattle blood samples collected Pamekasan, Madura. PCR used amplify region exon, and one-way sequencing conducted obtain thesequence amplified product. Six SNPs were identified. Four novel mutations, other two recorded Ensembl database(rs466598800 rs211583837). Among identified one mutation c.1301G/T caused stop codon TT genotype cattle. However, no carried genotype. Three mutations c.1324, c.1373, c.1399 missense that change amino acidsQ311L, A318P, L335B, respectively. Most thecattle had heterozygote genotypes all SNPs. It also be noted there sequence differences exon between Zebu (by Tantia et al., 2006).

Screening the partial coding region of metallothionein isoform-2 gene in Zebu cattle
Metallothionein (MT) is important because it binds tightly to heavy metals to decrease their toxicity. DNA was isolated from 30 toxic metal exposed and 30 toxic metal unexposed Zebu cows. The amplified metallothionein isoform-2 (MT-2) PCR product (489 bp) was further used for PCR-RFLP and DNA sequencing. MT-2 TaqI PCR-RFLP revealed homozygous genotype (AA) except for the E23 animal (AB). The ge...
متن کاملNovel Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNPs) in Intron 2 and Exon 3 Regions of Leptin Gene in Sumba Ongole Cattle
The bovine leptin (LEP) gene was widely used as a candidate gene for molecular selection to improve productivity traits of cattle. This study was carried out to identify single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the LEP gene of Sumba Ongole (SO, Bos indicus) cows using sequencing method. A total of 31 animals were used in this study for analyses. Research showed that total of 16 SNPs w...
متن کاملGenotyping of PRNP coding region for scrapie in Indian sheep
Prions are unprecedented infectious pathogens that cause a group of invariably fatal neurodegenerative disease by an entirely novel mechanism. The conformational change in prion proteins results in a change from a predominantly α-helical protein to a β-sheet form, which causes scrapie in sheep and goat. The present study was carried out to identify polymorphisms of the prion protein gene (PrP) ...
متن کاملNovel SNP in the coding region of the FTO gene is associated with marbling score in Hanwoo (Korean cattle)
The fat mass and obesity associated (FTO) gene plays an important role in the regulation of energy homeostasis, fat deposition and obesity. For this reason, the FTO gene is a physiological and functional candidate gene for carcass and meat quality traits in beef cattle. The objectives of this study were to identify SNPs in the exonic regions of FTO gene and to evaluate the association of these ...
